Like many others in 2020, my college graduation came to me in a box. My diploma wrapped in plastic, and my honor cords tangled. That was the pandemic’s way of welcoming me into my new career: survival of the fittest.

I quickly found that my diploma didn’t do much for me. Similar to my care-package cap and gown, I had it but couldn’t use it.

Flash forward a couple of years, and I’m a Security Officer at a manufacturing warehouse. I spend most days avoiding dismemberment. I enjoy the work I do but realize my luck only goes so far.

How long will it be before I’m gravely injured at my job?

In my search for something more meaningful (and safe), I discovered a program called Praxis. It can be in addition to or in lieu of college. The program teaches Praxians to find their own way in the business world by maximizing their skills.
